Pat Cuddihys 1953 Pan. Pat has been riding his Pan around Ireland (and internationally) for more years than I care to remember. His attention to quality and detail are a credit to him as the bike runs like clockwork. The perfect engraving found on sliders and timing cover is the work of master engraver Don Blockridge from Midlands, UK. The exceptional paint is by local biker Ger Conlon from Cork,Ireland. The rest of the credit lies firmly in Pats hands.Although I know the previous owner (well more than 20yrs ago) I can't imagine Pat without this bike or the other way around.

Hollister,California. The town that is credited with the birth of our outlaw culture.
I visited Hollister in 2002 to clear my head and mull over the fact that I had just retired from a bike club, that had been my daily life for just under 10yrs. The town has changed a whole lot since Johnny and Chino punched it out on main steet. I rode down to Johnny 's bar & grill for breakfast and sat opposite Wino Willies ashes, trying to decide if I had done the right thing retiring from club life, something I still wonder about regularly.
The 'city hall' and it's merchants still suck the blood from the bike rally annually and although I haven't been there at that time of year, I can imagine the frustration of bikers trying to deal with crap from cops and the city.
If you visit Hollister in the off season however, and ride down main street in the dead of night, you can experience the spine tingling sensation that you are not alone, the echos of Knuckles and side valves doing burnouts and doughnuts in the dust of the past.
Check out the websites, the books, the movies of our culture BUT most importantly, kick your bike to life and get out there into the dirt and sounds that make this life what it is. Ride.

Goonz C.C. Stomp in the Swamp 2016.
Thanks to the Goonz Car Club for the hospitality at the weekend and for facilitating the perfect venue for petrol heads to meet again. The selection of vehicles present this year, was genuinely second to none and it was a welcome sight to see unfamiliar cars and bikes turning up for the party. Besides the quality motors, the wide variety of entertainment was excellent with music from America's T-Bone, Dublin's "Absolutely-Yo" and the stage show of "til death do us part" from the U.K. There was a fantastic selection of the best food I have ever tasted at an outdoor event served up by Sharon,Alison and Maria. In the morning Danny,Butsy and Scott served up the perfect full Irish breakfast to everyone.
The overall show was held to an excellent standard,as it has been every year. I can't fault the formula,it produces a very laid back, attitude free environment. I hope that this session retains its small, friendly character that the lads have nurtured so far..
