Jail Bait.

My 1200 Shovel has been with me through thick and thin since 1994. She has been by my side through Marriage, divorce, births, deaths & debts ( has been the cause for some of the afore mentioned). She drives me crazy sometimes, but keeps me sane.Everything I know about working on old bikes (not alot ) I have learned from this one bike.
I reworked this bike plenty of times over the last 21yrs. She has been this shape for about 8years now.I cut the neck and pulled it out to sit level with the 6" over springer,my mate Clutch welded it up and worked his magic for me.I built both of the wheels with stainless spokes, the front hub is over 60yrs old and the biggest headache on the whole build was to make the inner stepped spacer. The handlebars were also welded up by Clutch,I fitted an internal throttle on them. The air filter was a 1935 artillery shell that I turned down on my lathe. The copper oil and fuel lines are all homemade along with the forward controls, seat, tool roll, spacers and mounting brackets.I made the rear fender out of a boat trailer mudguard. The oil tank was made by an old guy in Galway from 3 aluminium saucepans. Between the fender and oil tank is a clockwork music box that plays the waltz from 'The Godfather'. The top of the handshift is the 73year old brass doorknob from my house.
Someday I want to clean up the frame and rework an old tank to replace the king sporty, but she's too much fun to take off the road.
